Man, when you become a published writer, then you can comment on how to write a book. Writing a book is not like writing a term paper. There is not always an outline. You have ideas of where it may go, but that changes with where your imagination takes it, or where your mind is at the time. Writing a book is not always so structured. LOL. If you want an idea of what it is really like to write a book, watch “Stranger than Fiction”(minus the obvious plot factor of the character becoming real). THAT is what it is like to write a book. It is much more organic.
If you want to understand more about what you are talking about, read up on it through interviews with authors who write the same type of novel you are speaking about.
